History sends chills down my spine.

Today is the day for a new tomorrow, one in which all generations, young and old, can stand together no matter their party affliation, to be one nation. I never thought I would feel this relieved. I feel like our world has hope, my generation has hope. After watching the record turnout of voting, I felt reassured that people are standing up to be heard. No matter who you voted for, taking a stand for who you believed was the best man for a job is a honorable act to perform.

While at the bar earlier, I heard some of the worst racist remarks I have ever had to hear. Whoever says this country isn't racist anymore is insane. I will NEVER understand these comments or why someone would dislike someone because of the pigment in their skin. We're all human, have 2 hands and feet, the same amount of chromosomes, bones, and organs. Some of us are darker, some light, no matter our skin color, we are all Americans.

Stand strong together! Live in this moment and embrace it. Have hope for a better tomorrow.

Learn the truth.

I'm currently reading People's History of the United States. Every American should read this book, it tells history as it should be told....not propoganda, not misinterpreted, etc.

CHECK IT OUT!!!

Today is another day of productivity, I try to make MON-WED that way because I know I will be in a more relaxed mode on Thursday & Friday.... sometimes that changes, but it's how I have managed to work lately and I'm trying to find a SCHEDULE that works for me...with no school in fall, it's going to be weird to have so much free time. I'm used to juggling many things at once....

What do you do to manage your time?

Early to bed (not!), early to rise!

So after a few hours of sleep, I got out of bed at 730 AM today. Why do you ask? Apparently, my landlord has allowed VERIZON FIOS to install boxes in our units, so it could be anytime between 8:30 - 4 pm. They came in about 9:30 to install the box and now I'm waiting for the lines...I hear him coming down the stairs now...one moment.

.... Anyway, I am typing this as they are running phone lines throughout my place...I woke up, brewed some coffee and FINALLY finished reviewing all of the interviews people completed for my book. I also updated the RESOURCE list...things are finally getting done. I still have a few tasks that I want to complete regarding the book today. The last few weeks I finally started working on it again, with graduating this past semester (YES FINALLY), I had no time for EXTRAs besides my schoolwork, client work and sleeping.

While I do enjoy waking up early, I enjoy sleeping too --- perhaps if I can get my body to fall asleep earlier, I can begin to feel better about being up and working already for a few hours... maybe not? This is a work in progress, much like everything else in life. Essentially, I will test this process and evaluate the influence it has on me, my daily life, my work, and productivity levels. I shall report soon.

P.S. Yes, I intentionally wrote that as I would for my client work. Scary huh?

OH SATURDAY.

I know I blogged earlier, but I had to mention I forgot to say I finally purchased a webcam (will be in the mail Fedex Monday), so I will able to show you my place, my desk, and other things :) ! I'm excited.

Next, this song has been my obsession for a few weeks:

LISTEN TO IT!!

I have been drawing all day (yes I'm trying to learn) and being lazy. What are weekends for? I also finished the Boleyn Inheritance (if you don't read Philippa Gregory, do it)! :)

BLOG THERAPY.

I created this blog in order to blog out things that I bottle up and I haven't used it for that yet. I have been struggling with what to do with situations that are occuring in my life. I have discovered that the way I usually deal with things has changed, which has caused my mind to explode. I snapped the other night (3am) on the phone with one of my best friends, I was babbling and not making sense, I lost it. I usually take great care to ensure that I can fix most things that go wrong in my life. I have instilled the concept of "THINGS COULD BE WORSE" in my head the last year or so, which in most cases, is always true. But for some reason, my frustration is overcoming my once overpowering mindset.

Now that you've read this and confused yourself, you're probably wondering....what have I been doing.

Essentially, I work from home (if you don't know me), I write for different websites, corporations, magazines and newspapers. I write when I want, how I want, and where I want, it's a nice gig. It can be incredibly stressful because essentially I must market myself, do all client correspondence, do the work (or edit what my subcontractors do), do the billing, do my own books, etc. You get the point, it's an overwhelming job, but the payoff (for the most part) has outweighed the negative. I don't have to commute or deal with the cost of gas going back and forth, I don't have to sit in traffic, I don't have to answer to a boss (well clients, but it's different), I don't have to deal with office drama, I don't have to have set schedules, I don't have a dress code, and lastly, I don't have to deal with TINY raises...I charge what I want.

More later........
